Group of Four Ambassadors in Vietnam visit NPA Thua Thien Hue province
On Monday, 25 November 2024, NPA Vietnam in Thua Thien Hue province was delighted to host a visit by the Group of Four (G4) Ambassadors, H.E. Ms. Caroline Beresford, Ambassador of New Zealand; H.E. Ms. Hilde Solbakken, Ambassador of Norway; H.E. Mr. Shawn Steil, Ambassador of Canada ; and H.E. Mr. Thomas Gass, Ambassador of Switzerland.
The G4-Ambassadors delegation was briefed on NPA Vietnam mine action activities in Thua Thien Hue province to address legacy of the war to support the local people.
A pivotal aspect of the visit centered on interactions with NPA female staff, who shared compelling stories highlighting their journey over a decade with NPA. These narratives powerfully illuminate not just their personal triumphs over formidable challenges, but also serve as a vivid testament to NPA's relentless efforts in building a safer future for the people of Thua Thien Hue province while promoting gender diversity in the mine action sector, and participation of women in the national agenda of Women, Peace and Security.
NPA's humanitarian mine action work in Vietnam is made possible thanks to great financial support from the Government of Norway, the Government of the United States, and the Federal Government of Germany.
